Poster Title Submission Information

Q: When is the Poster Title information submission deadline?
A:  The deadline is June 23, 2020.

Q: What information do I need before submitting a poster title?

Q: Do I need my faculty’s approval before I submit my Poster Title information?
A: Before you submit a poster and abstract the mentor MUST approve that the contents are acceptable to appear on an open website. When submitting the poster and abstract you will be asked to confirm this.  There will be no way to display your poster without this approval.

Q: Where will this information be displayed?
A: The title of your research, along with authors and their affiliations will be put in the conference booklet, which will be available online as a resource.

Abstract Information

Q: What is the deadline for submitting my abstract?
A:  The abstract deadline is July 10, 2020.

Q: What is the word limit for my abstract?
A: The character limit is 200 words maximum. Please see student presentation resource page for additional help.

Q: Where will my abstract be displayed?
A: The abstract will appear with your poster on a website. If your research mentor approves, it will also appear in ScholarWorks. You will receive separate information about that.

Poster Submission

Q: How do I submit my poster file?
A:  You will receive an email with a PIN ID and a link to submit your poster. You will be submitting a PDF of the poster.

Q: I have never created an abstract or scientific poster, where can I find resources?
A: The resources that ICUR offers are available at the webpages for Abstract Submission Info and Poster Presentations. There are many other resources online that you may consult on how to create an effective abstract, prepare a scientific poster, or give a successful presentation.

Poster Presentation

Q: Will I have the opportunity to talk to attendees about my poster?
A: Yes, on July 24th (the second day of ICUR conference), we will have the students in breakout rooms to talk with attendees about their posters.

Q: How do I prepare for these breakout sessions?
A: Prepare a 2 minute elevator pitch and then be ready to answer questions. We will have a moderator in the room to assist with the logistics.

Registration & Cancellations

Q: What should I do if I need to cancel my abstract?
A: Please send an email to studentresearch@boisestate.edu immediately to cancel.

Q: I am not presenting at ICUR: Do I have to register?
A: If you are attending any of the activities at ICUR you need to register. There is no registration fee for the conference.
