    Professor

At Boise State I work in both IDoTeach – preparing science teachers – and in CIFS. My commitment to science education stems from a love of science (especially physics!) and a conviction that liberal education, publicly funded research, and academic debate are critical for a just democracy to thrive. I’m proud to work in a public university and prepare public school teachers, especially here in Idaho.

I can help you with questions about our department and programs, and with considering a STEM teaching career or engaging in science education research.

Program Staff

Staff who support excellence in STEM education.

  • Maggie Scott

    Administrative Assistant 2

At Boise State I assist the day-to-day operations of the IDoTeach program. My goal is for the program to operate smoothly so that faculty and students can focus on what they are here for – excellence in STEM education. I also enjoy being involved in initiatives across campus that make it a more connected and collaborative environment.

I can help with application questions, self enrollment codes, course permission numbers, materials requests and more. If you have a question and don’t know who to ask, I can help direct you to the right person!

    Visiting Assistant Professor

At Boise State I work in both IDoTeach and in Curriculum, Instruction and Foundational Studies (CIFS). I am passionate about bridging academic theory in education with classroom  instruction. Prior to coming to Boise State I worked as a 6-12 science teacher in Meridian, STEM and Education faculty at the College of Western Idaho, and a reading clinician on the Crow Indian Reservation.

I can help you with questions about IDoTeach and elementary science education, as well as more specific questions related to culturally responsive pedagogy at the confluence of Indigenous ways of knowing and Western science for American Indian students.
