How long does it take to add a STEM teaching certificate?

IDoTeach coursework is designed to be completed alongside an undergraduate STEM degree at Boise State. In many cases, students can complete the teaching coursework in as little as 2 years.

How do I request materials for my lesson?

Please submit the materials request form.

Can I request copies for an upcoming lesson?

Yes, but you will need to print your own master first (see printing options below). Bring your master to the IDoTeach offices between 10:00AM and 2:00PM, Monday – Friday, and we will help you make additional black & white copies.

If you don’t have a printer at home, there are printers available around campus for student use. All undergraduate and graduate students registered for academic credit (without fee waivers) receive a printing balance of $15 per semester (about 214 pages/semester at $ .07 per page). When should I submit materials requests?

The sooner the better! Materials requests deadlines are as follows:

  • For pick-up on a Monday or Tuesday, requests are due the Wednesday before.
  • For pick-up on a Wednesday, requests are due the Friday before.
  • For pick-up on a Thursday, requests are due the Monday before.
  • For pick-up on a Friday, requests are due the Tuesday before.

NOTE: Due to staff scheduling, requests for check-outs on Monday or Tuesday are both due the Wednesday before.

If you did not submit your materials request by the deadline or you attempt to pick up materials after hours, you need to contact your instructor.

What should I put for the materials request checkout date?

The checkout date for materials should be the first day you need access to the materials, like for practice lesson days. EDUC441 is open for pick-ups 9:00AM – 3:00PM Monday-Friday.

When are materials due back?

Materials must be returned the business day after the lesson date. If your lesson is on Monday, materials are due back Tuesday. If your lesson is on Friday, materials are due back Monday. EDUC441 is open for returns 9:00AM – 3:00PM Monday-Friday.

Do I have to do a background check if I completed one through another agency?

Yes, you need to complete a new background check through the State Department of Education. See Apply to IDoTeach for more details.
