The COMPASS program from Washington University in St. Louis is accepting applications from early career investigators interested in leadership and management training. This 10-week program (about 4 hours\/week commitment) includes mentorship and community engagement and is available at no cost. The deadline for applications is January 5th<\/sup>. In addition to that, more information is available below and attached. If you or your junior colleagues might be interested, please forward the information along. One of the ITHS clinical researchers participated in the program and found it to be an excellent way to establish peer mentoring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This spring we will be hosting the sixth cohort of\u00a0Compass<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0\u2013 an NIH-funded program that provides training and mentoring for early-career faculty and late-stage postdocs at U.S. academic institutions. Compass Scholars develop their practical leadership and management skills for leading a lab or research team. Furthermore, the program is open to those who lead or plan to lead a lab or research team. We help researchers create supportive research environments that are productive, rigorous, and collaborative.\u00a0The Spring cohort launches January 27th<\/sup>, 2025. Interested Scholars should\u00a0<\/strong>apply by January 5th<\/sup><\/strong><\/a>!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Previously, over 500 Scholars from more than 140 institutions have participated in this NIH-funded program! Compass is an intensive 10-week program delivered remotely, including independent and team-based learning focused on best practices and developing a personalized Lab Manual. Along with that, peer mentoring and live virtual events with successful mentors create a forum to share ideas and advice. Finally, graduates remain part of the Compass community with access to resources beyond the 10 weeks!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Biomedical researchers across disciplines are welcome. Biomedical research is broadly defined \u2013 it includes, but is not limited to, basic sciences, clinical, public health, computational, and behavioral\/social research disciplines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
