The Sawtooth Science Institute offers natural history workshops in a variety of topics, including geology, biology, ecology and history. Workshops are two-day adventures at locations in southern and central Idaho. Participants can earn one professional development credit from Boise State University after completing the workshop.

Christine Gertschen is the founder and coordinator for the Sawtooth Science Institute.  She received a teaching certificate from the College of Idaho and a master of science degree in natural history from Boise State University.  She led the Idaho Environmental Education Association for many years and received two awards for outstanding service.

The summer 2022 courses are now completed, however, in summer of 2023 you can browse the course descriptions below. Select the course that best fits your interests and availability, then click the link and complete the registration and payment information.
