The School of Kinesiology has created a new Bachelor of Science Degree in Exercise, Physical Activity, and Sport (EPAS). The EPAS degree program is a practical, terminal-degree program designed to prepare graduates for careers in Exercise, Fitness, Recreation, and Sport programming in Idaho and throughout the region. This program is ideal for students who are interested in the study of kinesiology (human movement), physical activity, fitness, and sport. EPAS is for students interested in examining the use of human movement and physical activity to enhance the health and well-being of individuals across their lifespan.
The EPAS degree program has several courses that can assist students in preparing for additional certification through the American College of Sports Medicine and the National Academy of Sports Medicine.
Mission Statement, “The Bachelor of Science in Exercise, Physical Activity, and Sport advances wellness and sport performance through the mastery of human movement and exercise science principles. Our graduates are equipped to evaluate health and athletic ability through comprehensive physiological assessments—from cardiorespiratory to functional fitness. By integrating behavioral psychology and readiness-for-change strategies, they design evidence-based interventions that transform physical activity and sport into a sustainable lifestyle for all.”
[Finally, many of the courses in EPAS program are offered in an online format which allows greater flexibility for students.]
