Closure Alert

Albertsons Library announces temporary summer closures for essential improvements

Albertsons Library will temporarily close for critical electrical and safety improvements this summer semester. The primary focus of this work is the replacement of the Library’s electrical switchgears. These systems are nearing or have exceeded their functional lifespan. Replacing them is essential for ensuring a secure environment for the teams who maintain and operate this equipment, and strengthening the reliability of all electrical systems throughout the facility.

Due to the nature of this work, Albertsons Library will be unavailable during two upcoming periods:

  • May 11 through May 29
  • June 29 through July 17

This work is part of the university’s Capital Renewal Program. Learn more about the Capital Renewal Program.

Services During the Closure

Interlibrary Loan services will be temporarily located on the first floor of the Simplot-Micron Academic Success Hub (SMASH), past the lobby. Physical item pick-up and drop-off shelving will be moved to this area. The drive-up book drop for Albertsons Library is situated in front of the Hemingway Center, accessible from the Central Reserve parking lot. ILL staff will check the drop box daily.

While subject librarians will not hold Bronco Learning Common hours this summer, our essential virtual resources and support remain accessible. You can access our online resources 24/7, and subject librarians are available for assistance through LibChat from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday.
