The books will be celebrated along with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.loc.gov\/programs\/center-for-the-book\/great-reads-from-great-places\/\" id=\"https:\/\/www.loc.gov\/programs\/center-for-the-book\/great-reads-from-great-places\/\">Great Reads<\/a> selections from across the country on Saturday, August 22 in Washington, D.C.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-save-the-dates-idaho-great-reads-author-events-in-boise\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Save the Dates: Idaho Great Reads Author Events in Boise<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In partnership with Rediscovered Books and Boise Public Library, Idaho Center for the Book will host two local events with the authors of the 2026 Idaho Great Reads:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>Tuesday, September 8, 6:30 &#8211; 7:30 p.m.:<\/strong> Join &#8220;Wild and Distant Seas&#8221; author Tara Karr Roberts at <a href=\"https:\/\/rdbooks.org\/event\/2026-09-08\/tara-karr-roberts-2026-idaho-great-read-author-event\" id=\"https:\/\/rdbooks.org\/\">Rediscovered Books<\/a> for a lively discussion led by Steven Olsen-Smith, Professor Emeritus of English at Boise State University. The conversation will include a Q&amp;A with the audience, followed by a book signing.<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>Tuesday, September 29, 4:00 &#8211; 6:00 p.m.:<\/strong> Meet the creative team behind &#8220;Incredible Idaho Women&#8221; at the <a href=\"https:\/\/boisepubliclibrary.libcal.com\/event\/17383222\">Hillcrest branch of Boise Public Library<\/a> in this family program for all ages. The book&#8217;s creator, Kara Jackson of BoiseDev, will read selections and share stories about the women featured in the book. Each biography features an accompanying custom portrait by an Idaho artist.
