About
Josie joined the mathematics department in 2025. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Master’s degree in Education, Curriculum and Instruction at Boise State University and then taught mathematics at One Stone, a local non-profit, independent high school.
Josie is passionate about providing students with opportunities to collaborate and think critically about problems. She believes in students and knows that everyone is capable of doing hard things like mathematics. In her position at Boise State she not only teaches courses, but also supports local high school instructors who are teaching courses for dual credit through Boise State and supports outreach efforts for the department.
One of Josie’s efforts is running a Problem of the Month series which poses interesting and unique challenges monthly throughout the academic year. Check it out below!
