Certificate programs provide focused areas of study to supplement your degree.  Certificates are available to both students currently enrolled at Boise State, and members of the community who already hold an associate or baccalaureate degree. Media students are encouraged to use certificates as a way to personalize their degree program and support their professional goals. See your advisor for more information.

COMMUNICATION MANAGEMENT (fully online)

The Communication Management Certificate is a fully-online program that focuses on managing professional processes and relationships. By completing the certificate, students will be prepared to manage both internal and external communication such as employment, collaboration, business communication, and community relations.

DIGITAL MEDIA

Nearly any position in today’s workplace demands digital media skills. The Digital Media Certificate develops your expertise in both the concepts and practical skills associated with digital media creation, curation, and management.

MEDIA CONTENT MANAGEMENT (fully online)

The Media Content Management Certificate is a fully-online program that focuses on managing professional processes and relationships. By completing this certificate, students will be prepared for both internal and external media communications, global public relations, and social media strategies.

PUBLIC RELATIONS

The Public Relations Certificates prepares students to help businesses or individuals build and manage relationships with various publics through communications, websites, traditional media, social media, and in-person engagements. Once coursework is completed, students focus on their individual goals by completing one or more public relations internships to gain the professional experience necessary to launch their chosen career.

SPORT INFORMATION & CULTURE

The Sport Information & Culture (SIC) Certificate is designed to develop future innovative leaders in the sport business and entertainment management industry. Open to all majors, it provides a unique curriculum that includes foundational work in the study of sport, a focus on communications within the industry, and an examination of the link between entertainment industries and culture.
