Outreach

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Our Outreach Team works to build bridges and increase engagement with the community, alumni, student organizations, and the campus. These outgoing members create opportunities to connect and collaborate with the department. They also write and publish alumni news and alumni spotlights for the website and social media. This position requires you to think creatively, work collaboratively, be innovative, and work with minimal supervision.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Strong writing, publishing, interviewing, and collaboration skills
• Experience with research, marketing, and messaging
• Ability to work collaboratively with the Outreach Coordinator
• Familiar with collaboration tools (e.g. Google applications, Trello)
• Understanding of fundraising and development
• Understanding of organizational identity management
• Understanding of strategic campaign, interpersonal, and organizational methods, strategies, and tactics

DUTIES:

• Supports the Outreach efforts
• May act as a liaison between the department administrative team and other groups to develop and maintain strong connections with the department
• Works collaboratively with the to develop and implement outreach campaigns
• Supports department messaging by writing and publishing Alumni spots for the website
• Tracks department alumni activity through social media and media outlets in order to share it through department and university outlets
• Assists in planning, promoting, and implementing alumni and community events
• Finds opportunities to promote department connections through social media and the website
• Focuses efforts on expressing the department’s personality by showcasing activities
