About Prof. Wang
Dr. Shih-Ping Wang is an active pianist, educator, and chamber musician.
She has collaborated with faculty and students at Utah State University and Brigham Young University, and has served as a staff pianist at Utah Valley University.
A winner of the National Taichung University Concerto Competition, Dr. Wang also received top prizes in both the solo and chamber music categories of the National Music Contest of Taiwan. She has performed throughout Taiwan, including premieres of her own compositions for piano trio and for clarinet and piano, and has appeared in concerts across Europe, Asia, and North America.
Dr. Wang earned her Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance, with minors in flute performance and composition, from National Taichung University, where she studied with Hui-Hua Liou. She received her Master of Music in Piano Performance from the Cleveland Institute of Music under Margarita Shevchenko, and her Doctor of Musical Arts in Piano Performance from Michigan State University under the tutelage of Shevchenko and Dr. Deborah Moriarty.
Dr. Wang currently resides in Boise, Idaho, with her husband, two daughters, and their dog, Mochi.
