Marcellus Brown Retirement Celebration

A Legacy Celebration

After 33 years of outstanding service at Boise State University, Professor Marcellus Brown will retire at the end of the 2022-2023 academic year. To commemorate this milestone, we held a weekend of meaningful events celebrating Prof. Brown’s accomplishments and achievements during his tenure as Director of Bands.

For everyone that attended, participated or offered support, we sincerely thank you. And while the festivities may have concluded, you can still support and celebrate Prof. Brown by supporting the Marcellus Brown Band Scholarship.

Marcellus Brown Band Scholarship

To establish a permanent legacy in honor of Prof. Brown, we seek contributions to the Marcellus Brown Band Scholarship. The scholarship will provide a four-year award to an outstanding musician playing in the Boise State Symphonic Winds each year, forever! In addition, the scholarship will contribute to the continued growth and quality of the entire department.
