Allen joined the Nanoscale Materials and Device Group at Boise State University during Winter Break 2010. He is pursuing an undergraduate degree in Computer Science. The Nanoscale Materials and Device group hired Allen to assist with developing and maintaining the group website, the Band Diagram program, and automating instrumentation processes.

After joining the group, Allen has assisted in converting the website environment to WordPress, by redeveloping the group equipment scheduler. And has worked on various internal projects and the Java version of the Band diagram program.
