Sawtooth Writing Retreat accepting applications

The 2025 Sawtooth Writing Retreat will meet in the mountains near Ketchum, Idaho

The 2025 Sawtooth Writing Retreat is now accepting applications. Set for Sept. 18-21, the retreat will feature returning authors Kim Cross and Paul Bogard, alongside Boise State Assistant Professor Anna Caritj. The retreat is designed for students, adults, emerging and mid-career writers who wish to elevate their writing skills and connect with a community of serious writers a secluded setting.

This year’s retreat will also feature a wildfire panel discussion with Jen Pierce climate change and wildfire scientist), Jennifer Ladino (environmental humanities scholar), and Chad Fisher (retired National Park Service branch chief of wildland fire). There will also be an evening of star-gazing with professional telescopes operated by experienced astronomers.

Last year’s Sawtooth Writing Retreat was featured on Idaho news station KIVI Channel 6.
