As part of the Capital Renewal Program, much-needed upgrades to the campus steam heat system are currently under construction. These upgrades have required a shutdown of the heating system on campus for the summer through part of the fall semester. Steam is currently scheduled to be off until Oct. 20, 2025.
The university’s steam heat typically transitions back on in preparation for winter in early September. Depending on weather in September and October, the later transition means buildings will likely be colder than normal until the steam heat is back on.
Occupants of affected buildings will be notified by their building coordinators of what to expect and whom to contact with concerns.
