The Office of Title IX and Institutional Equity and the Office of Institutional Compliance and Ethics have merged into one department – the Office of Compliance and Ethics. This realignment is designed to simplify how the campus community accesses resources and support for university, civil rights and Title IX compliance while improving transparency and coordination across university compliance functions.
The newly formed office now encompasses two primary areas:
- Civil rights and Title IX compliance, which will enforce state and federal law, including Title IX, and university policies related to discrimination, harassment and sexual misconduct.
- University compliance, which will oversee the university’s compliance efforts – including ADA/504 oversight, digital accessibility compliance, overseeing the Minors on Campus Program, investigating allegations of fraud, waste, and abuse, and overseeing the university’s compliance and ethics program.
To accompany this launch, the office has unveiled a new website and a streamlined “Report a Concern” page, making it easier for students, faculty and staff to request help, report concerns or seek support and resources, including accommodations for pregnancy and related conditions. The office is also welcoming a new staff member and announcing a staffing change:
- Angie Zirschky has been named Compliance Director and ADA/504 Coordinator, bringing over 17 years of experience at Boise State to the role. Zirschky has served in various capacities in Human Resources and most recently served as the university’s Policy Director and ADA/504 Coordinator. In this new role for the office, she will continue as the university’s ADA/504 Coordinator and will oversee the university’s compliance and ethics program, digital accessibility compliance, the Minors on Campus program, investigations into allegations of fraud, waste, and abuse, and other areas of compliance and regulatory oversight.
- Meagan Roumanis has served as an investigator for the Office of Title IX and Institutional Equity. Roumanis will assume an additional role as the university’s Title IX Coordinator, where she will ensure the university’s compliance with the Title IX regulations by overseeing the intake and coordination of complaints, training and education, and partnering with other university departments to promote awareness, reporting options, and ensure the coordination of supportive measures.
