Wakild presents at environmental history conference in Brazil

Emily Wakild, the Cecil D. Andrus Endowed Chair for the Environment and Public Lands, presented her research on national parks in South America at the Society for Latin American and Caribbean Environmental History conference in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in July 2025. Wakild presented as part of a panel on new landscapes of environmentalism and moderated a panel about sustainable forests. She also participated in a pre-conference academic workshop about the role of animals in Latin American history, sponsored by the University of Cologne.
