Celebrate the people behind the paycheck

Every two weeks, more than 6,000 Boise State employees get a paycheck. That’s no easy task. Behind that moment is a dedicated group of professionals making sure everything runs smoothly.

National payroll week (Sept. 1-5) shines a light on the payroll professionals who keep organizations running by ensuring timely, accurate pay. At Boise State, the Human Resources and Workforce Strategy operations staff work behind the scenes (nights, holidays and even when campus is closed) to make sure every paycheck is accurate. They also handle withholdings, taxes, benefits and issuing payments, all the details no one sees but everyone depends on.

“I’m so glad there is a week to celebrate the essential role payroll plays,” said Agnes Stepek, deputy chief human resources officer. “Our operations team works with care and precision to make sure employees are paid accurately and on time.”

To join in celebrating the HR operations team, consider sending a note of thanks to the team at hr@boisestate.edu or to an individual colleague through Thank a Bronco.

Paychecks aren’t automatic, they’re powered by people. Give a big thank you to the HR operations team this national payroll week:
