Fall 2025 Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity Scholarship recipients announced

The Institute for Inclusive and Transformative Scholarship is pleased to announce scholarship recipients for the Fall 2025 Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity Scholarships. These 11 students will each receive a $3,000 stipend to conduct research or pursue a creative project over 12-weeks under the supervision of a faculty mentor. For faculty, it is an opportunity to work closely with, and mentor an undergraduate student. 

Funding for the scholarships is provided by the Higher Education Research Council of the Idaho State Board of Education and Boise State’s Division of Research and Economic Development.

The awardees for the Fall 2025 scholarships are:

  • Mikala Hicks, Mechanical Engineering. Faculty research mentor: Tyler Brown
  • Stephanie Low, Biology. Faculty research mentor: Julie Heath
  • Megan McCartney, Engineering Plus. Faculty research mentor: Erin Mannen
  • Amber McNaughton, Physics, Interdisciplinary Studies. Faculty research mentor: Byung Kim
  • Alice Mwamba, Nursing. Faculty research mentor: Katherine Doyon
  • Chinma Njoku, Nursing. Faculty research mentor: Ryoko Kausler
  • Adebusola Oluwatoba-Adeyemi, Nursing. Faculty research mentor: Katherine Doyon
  • Briana Rojas, Health Science. Faculty research mentor: Ken Cornell
  • Ethan Mariner, Finance, Accounting. Faculty research mentor: Kyle Allen
  • Elena Rielinger, Linguistics, Interdisciplinary Studies. Faculty research mentor: Michal Temkin Martinez
  • Dolly Nykol Trinidad Vilcapoma, Linguistics. Faculty research mentor: Michal Temkin Martinez
