Boise State’s Alumni Association and Career Services have partnered to launch a new alumni-student mentorship program — the first of its kind on campus. Applications are due by Oct. 19, and the program runs from Oct. 20, 2025, through April 24, 2026.
The program pairs current students with Boise State alumni to foster meaningful, one-on-one connections. Students benefit by gaining a trusted mentor who can offer guidance and encouragement, and alumni have the rewarding opportunity to give back and help shape the journey of the next generation of Broncos.
Many alumni have already experienced the power of these connections firsthand.
“Participating as a mentor allowed me to share some of the things I wish I had known earlier about the dynamic field I was entering (international nonprofit external affairs),” said Heidi Peterson ‘98. “As a mentor, I also benefited from learning from my mentee, who was full of great energy and ideas. I would recommend this mentorship program for its ability to mutually enrich lives, help people think more broadly about the future and develop the life skills they will need to overcome practical challenges encountered at various life stages.”
What to expect
- Time commitment: Mentorship pairs meet once a month for one to two hours in whichever format works best (in-person or virtual).
- Support: Alumni Association and Career Services staff provide orientation sessions and are available for questions throughout the program.
- Connection: BroncoLink, Boise State’s career and networking platform, is the central hub for the mentorship experience. Here, participants will track milestones, access resources and stay connected with their cohort.
- Cost: Free for students and alumni.
