Professor Arthur Scarritt and Lecturer Michael Kreiter, both of the Department of Sociology, and their newly founded Syringa State Community Research Lab worked with the Idaho Policy Institute to secure a grant from the Boise School District. The group will investigate the impact of the district’s free breakfast program.
The Syringa State Community Research Lab hires student researchers through the Intermountain Research Lab. Together, they conduct surveys and focus groups with parents, teachers and district staff to evaluate the free lunch program’s impact.
The group expects to have results next month.
