Lauren Griswold selected as Chief Communications and Marketing Officer for the University of Vermont. Sherry Squires named interim CCMO for Boise State University.
Lauren Griswold has been selected as Chief Communications and Marketing Officer for the University of Vermont, the university announced today.
Griswold joined Boise State University in 2019 as Associate Vice President for Creative Strategy and was promoted in 2020 to oversee Boise State’s Office of Communications and Marketing as the Chief Communications and Marketing Officer.
“Lauren has been an extraordinary colleague and a creative force for Boise State,” said Interim President Jeremiah Shinn. “She has helped us tell our story with clarity and conviction, built lasting partnerships across campus, and strengthened the power of our brand. We’re deeply grateful for her leadership and we wish her all the best as she joins the team at the University of Vermont.”
During her time in the role Griswold led the launch of the Northwest Emmy-nominated commercial, Out of The Blue, which leveraged the university’s national reputation and brand recognition of the blue turf. Griswold was also recognized by the American Marketing Association as a finalist for marketer of the year in higher education in 2024.
“Boise State is a special brand, not only because of the iconic blue turf, but because of the talented team of communications and marketing professionals who are dedicated to sharing the incredible stories of our students, faculty, staff and alumni who are impacting communities across Idaho,” Griswold said. “I can’t wait to watch Boise State write its next chapter.”
Griswold will depart Boise State at the end of October. Sherry Squires will serve as interim CCMO. Squires has served at Boise State for more than 25 years, most recently as Deputy Chief Communications and Marketing Officer for the Office of Communications and Marketing.
