College of Business and Economics hosts Blue Turf Sales Competition

More than 50 participants in the Blue Turf Sales Competition got to visit the blue turf during the event.

Boise State’s College of Business and Economics Dykman Professional Sales Program hosted the Blue Turf Sales Competition Oct. 24-25, 2025. The competition brought eight schools from across the western United States to apply their knowledge and skills in professional sales through team and individual competitions. The event also included networking opportunities, a sales career fair and a keynote presentation from Nick Elliot, division manager for CED.

“The Blue Turf Sales Competition brought out the best in students as they competed for top honors,” said Frank Veltri, sales team advisor and director of the Dykman Family Professional Sales Program. “They came ready, refined and eager to demonstrate the power of professionalism in sales.”

In the team competition Idaho State University placed first, Utah State University placed second and Brigham Young University placed third. In the individual competition, Christian Pearson from Brigham Young University placed first, Rachel Rapue from California State University – Chico placed second and Josh Clawson from Brigham Young University placed third. Participating schools included Boise State, Brigham Young University, California State University – Chico, California State University – Fullerton, Idaho State University, Oregon State University, Utah State University, and Weber State University. 

Dykman Electrical was the primary event sponsor, CED was the case provider and event sponsor, and an additional five companies sponsored the event: Assa Abloy, Bish’s RV, Fastenal, Federated Insurance, Papé and Sherwin-Williams.
