Saskia Sawyer has been selected as associate vice president for advancement services for the Boise State University Foundation following a national search.

“Saskia brings a wealth of experience and fresh perspective to our leadership team to lead our advancement services team,” said Argia Beristain, CEO of the Foundation. “Her depth of knowledge and energy is key as we continue to strengthen our systems, partnerships and the impact of philanthropy at Boise State. I’m thrilled to welcome her to our team.”

Sawyer brings more than 15 years of experience in higher education to Boise State. In her new position, Sawyer will drive the strategic direction of the development and alumni relations infrastructure, playing a key role in advancing Boise State’s mission through data-driven insights and cutting-edge operational excellence. She will also oversee four high-impact teams — advancement systems and information delivery, gift handling and administration, prospect development, and stewardship — to create an exceptional, donor-focused experience that fuels philanthropic success.

“I am excited for the opportunity to apply my experience and love for advancement services under the amazing direction of Argia and the leadership team,” Sawyer said. “I thrive in an environment that brings people together and builds a better tomorrow for everyone. I want to learn the secret to the Blue Turf Thinking that Boise is so well-known for and let it guide my own decision making as well.”

With a love for mountains cultivated while growing up along the Alps in Germany, Sawyer is eager to explore Boise’s hiking trails, ski at new resorts and watch her husband fly-fish on the Boise River. She also looks forward to cheering on the Broncos at home.

Sawyer’s first day at Boise State was Oct. 29.
