University launches Chief Financial Officer search

Boise State University is beginning a national search for its next Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

“Sustaining Boise State’s incredible momentum requires a financial leader who can help us harness new opportunities while strengthening the university’s foundation,” said Interim President Jeremiah Shinn. “I have full confidence that this search will bring forward exceptional candidates who are aligned with Boise State’s values and aspirations. I am grateful to my colleagues who have agreed to serve on this important search committee.”

Annie Hightower, deputy Chief Operating Officer, will chair the search committee. Search committee members include Lisa Bostaph, professor, Department of Criminal Justice; Amy Fleischer, dean, College of Engineering; Rhonda McFarland, director of strategic initiatives and special projects in Finance and Operations; Matthew Mayer, associate athletic director and Chief Financial Officer for Athletics; and Stacy Pearson, interim CFO. There will be opportunities to meet final candidates during on-campus visits which we anticipate will be in the Spring.

Reporting directly to the President, the CFO is responsible for overseeing the departments in University Financial Services, the Office of Budget and Planning, and the Office of Information Technology. The CFO is a member of the President’s Executive Team and serves as a strategic partner to the Administrative Council, the Idaho State Board of Education, the state’s Division of Financial Management, and the Legislative Finance Committee to achieve the fiscal goals of the University. As Bursar, the CFO serves as the guarantor of the University’s financial integrity, ensuring effective and efficient planning and utilization of the University’s resources in service of its mission and vision.

Stacy Pearson will continue to serve as interim CFO until a permanent CFO is selected.
