Recognize a faculty member who teaches foundational courses for non-majors by nominating them for a University Foundations Teaching Award. The awards recognize the essential contribution those teaching non-majors make to the core mission of public education. The University Foundations curriculum includes not only 100- and 200-level UF courses but also First Year Writing and Foundations of the Discipline courses (like Art 100 or Biology 191).
Six winners will not only receive awards from Boise State for their dedicated teaching, but will also be entered as candidates for state-wide awards from the Idaho State Board of Education. Nominate someone who deserves to be recognized for the creativity and dedication they bring to teaching a foundations course before Jan. 31, 2026.
How to Nominate
Nominations can be completed by filling out a brief nomination form. A nomination letter can also be sent to UniversityFoundations@BoiseState.edu.
Winning candidates who become nominees for a second, state-wide award will be asked to provide further materials (such as a CV and a sample assignment) and to participate in an interview to help prepare their state-level nomination packet.
