Courtheyn presents on community development practices

Christopher Courtheyn, associate professor in the School of Public Service, presented at the annual meeting of the American Association of Geographers on March 20, 2026, in San Francisco. He was a panelist on an Author Meets Critics session called “Struggles for Peace, Autonomy, and Territory in Colombia: Book Roundtable on ‘Dissident Peace’.” He also presented a paper with insights about how community and public scholarship methodologies can learn from community development practices, titled “Critical Performance Geography: Social Movement Praxis as Geographical Research Methodology.”
