- Adjunct Book Circle: Adjunct faculty will read and explore the book “Small Teaching“ by James Lang. In the book, Lang presents a strategy for improving student learning with a series of modest but powerful changes that make a big difference, many of which can be put into practice in a single class period. - “More than Words” book circle: Explore and reflect on your own teaching practices in an interactive book circle this fall focused on John Warner’s “More Than Words: How to Think About Writing in the Age of AI.” Over the course of these book circle sessions, we will move beyond the “AI-proofing” mindset to explore how we can design writing experiences that are intrinsically rewarding, intellectually rigorous, and authentically human. - Certificate Launch Communities of Practice: Interested in or currently pursuing one the Reflective Teaching or Evidence-Based Teaching Certificates? Then join one of the “Certificate Launch” COPs, during which you will be introduced to the certificate requirements and work with other faculty to make progress towards completion.
- Peer Observation Program: Participants will be matched with two other instructors to engage in peer observations of teaching and reflective discussions in a non-evaluative setting. This program fosters collaborative learning, reflective teaching practices and personal growth, in a supportive environment. Register for the program.
- Workshop: Connect Course Learning to Community Impact (11 a.m. Sept 17, Zoom). Today’s communities need graduates who are informed, engaged, and ready to address complex challenges. One way to help students develop these skills is by giving them opportunities to apply what they’re learning as community problem-solvers. Register for the workshop.
- Ten for Teaching: This workshop series kicks off in September, offering ten focused, asynchronous workshops — each just one week long.
