The Undergraduate Research and Mentoring Institute (URM Institute) is pleased to announce scholarship recipients for the Fall 2026 Undergraduate Research, Scholarship and Creative Activity (URSCA) Scholarships. Nine students will receive a $3000 stipend each to conduct research or pursue a creative project over 12-weeks under the supervision of a faculty mentor. For faculty, it is an opportunity to work closely with, and mentor an undergraduate student.
The Higher Education Research Council of the Idaho State Board of Education, Boise State’s Division of Research and Economic Development, and the Raptor Research Center provide funding for the scholarships.
The awardees for the Fall 2026 scholarships are:

- Saul Carreon, Health Studies. Faculty research mentor: Katherine Doyon
- Tucker Gratton, Mathematics, Chemistry. Faculty research mentor: Jenée Cyran
- Camila Juarez Roman, Chemistry, English Literature. Faculty research mentor: Jenée Cyran
- Isaac Newberry, Biology. Faculty research mentor: Leonora Bittleston
- Evelyne Gertier, Social Work. Faculty research mentor: Rujeko Machinga
- Jacob Wilson, Graphic Design. Faculty research mentor: Laurie Blakeslee
- Annastasia Waters, Biology. Faculty research mentor: Stephanie Galla
