If you graduated from high school within the last year and are starting college for the first time, New Student Orientation for First-Year students is for you. This includes students who have earned college-level AP, IB, and dual enrollment credit.
For first-year students starting in the spring semester, New Student Orientation for First-Year students is a 1-day program that will help you get ready for your future at Boise State. Our staff will ease your transition to college life by sharing what you’ll need to know before your first day of classes. All new students are expected to attend an Orientation before registering for classes.
What can I expect at Orientation?
It will be fun, exciting, and maybe a little scary, but at the end of the day, you’ll be glad you’re a Bronco. At Orientation you can expect to:
- Receive introductory academic advising
- Register for classes
- Receive your Bronco ID Card
- Meet other new students and Orientation Leaders
- For summer orientations: Experience what it’s like in the residence halls by staying overnight (optional)
- Learn how to navigate Boise State’s campus and resources
If you are interested in seeing a tentative schedule of orientation, check out our Draft Schedule for spring Orientations for First-Year/Transfer and Non-Traditional Students.
Can I bring my family?
Do you require special accommodations?
If you or your guests have access, language, or special dietary needs that may require accommodations while attending Orientation, you can indicate your needs when you sign up. In addition to providing this information electronically, please contact New Student Programs at (208) 426-1679 to discuss your needs. Call at least 7-10 business days before your Orientation to ensure your needs can be met.
