If you are a new preceptor, the School of Nursing requires you to complete the Preceptor Information Form, submit a current curriculum vitae along with documentation of your credentials, licensure, work schedule, and details about your patient load and acuity. Preceptors must have at least one year of post-licensure experience as a nurse practitioner, physician, or physician assistant.
We seek individuals with strong communication, teaching, problem-solving, advocacy, conflict resolution, and goal-setting skills. A commitment to providing regular evaluations and offering constructive feedback to students is essential.
We value preceptors who are eager to share their knowledge, mentor students, and actively support their learning.

In addition to completing student evaluations, preceptors have the option to submit feedback on Boise State’s nurse practitioner program through a survey available in Typhon at the end of the rotation.
