Renee Walters, PhD, RN, FNP-BC

Renee Walters joined Boise State University in Fall 2016 and was named Clinical Operations Director for the School of Nursing in Fall 2019.

Dr. Walters is a Family Nurse Practitioner whose educational background includes an associate degree in nursing from Johnson County Community College (JCCC) and a BSN, MSN, and PhD from the University of Kansas (KU).

Professionally, Dr. Walter’s worked at The University of Kansas Hospital for the last 17 years before moving to Idaho. Her last position was as the CV Lab Manager and Coordinator of First Aid for the Kansas City Chiefs. In addition, she was on the medical team for The Kansas Speedway and The Kansas City Royals.  She has served as a faculty member at JCCC, KU, and Park University teaching

On a personal side, Renee spends time with her wonderful husband Robert; kind daughter Michelle, and energetic son Jacob.  She loves that her home is full of laughter and quirkiness thanks to their joyful dog, Lucky.  In her spare time she enjoys traveling, gardening, boating, and most recently skiing at Bogus Basin in Boise.
