Shelle Poole, PhD, PMP, MBB
Divisional Dean/Associate Clinical Professor, School of Nursing
Shelle Poole is Divisional Dean and an Associate Clinical Professor at Boise State University. Her main area of focus is leadership. Poole gained her business leadership expertise from her twenty years working for Hewlett-Packard and her doctoral research. While working for Hewlett-Packard Shelle served as an interim-VP, a Director, led global teams for 14 years, and had the opportunity to work in HR, Marketing, IT, R & D, Services, Business Development, Manufacturing, Quality, and Training.
Shelle holds a Ph.D. in Adult and Organizational Development which she applied in developing high performing teams and future organizational leaders. She also holds a Masters Degree in Organizational Leadership, with an emphasis on Organizational Change. At HP, she directly applied these learning’s by leading large Organizational Change initiatives.
Shelle currently teaches courses in Transformational Leadership & High Performing teams and Strategic Business Management to Under-graduates, Graduates and Executive MBA students. She also teaches Policy, Power, and Voice in the School of Nursing.
Shelle Poole’s doctoral research focused on women in business leadership and she continues to be active in this area. Shelle founded Women of the Workplace (W.O.W.), an organization used to mentor, educate, encourage, and strengthen female students at Boise State University in order to prepare them for future leadership roles.
