Teresa Serratt, PhD, RN
DNP Program Director and Associate Professor, School of Nursing
Dr. Teresa Serratt is the DNP Program Director and an Associate Professor at Boise State University and teaches in the DNP program in the School of Nursing. She holds a PhD from the University of California, San Francisco with a specialty in health policy and a MS degree in Nursing from The University of Texas, Tyler. Dr. Serratt conducts health services research (issues related to cost, quality and access to care) with a recent focus on issues related to nurse staffing. She has a varied professional background from bedside critical care, nursing administration, pharmaceutical sales, medical product research & development, and education: in hospital & academic settings. Dr. Serratt was the former legislative chair for the Nevada Nurses Association for several years.
Her mission as a nurse educator is to prepare students to be excellent nurses who are empowered with the knowledge and skills to not only provide compassionate, quality care but to also be change agents in developing a health care system that works well for everyone.
Dr. Serratt is married with adult children: one son, three daughters and has two grandchildren, Madison & Mason. She also has three dogs who keep her company in her home office. Hobbies include traveling, hiking, reading, and working on a works of popular fiction.
