Dr. Debra Johnson is an adjunct faculty member at Boise State University and has been practicing and teaching online and seated nursing classes for many years.  She received her associate degree from Northeast Mississippi Junior College, her baccalaureate degree from Mississippi University for Women, and her MS and PhD degrees from Georgia State University.  Dr. Johnson resides in Georgia and has taught courses in fundamentals, medical-surgical, leadership and management, community, health care systems, legal issues, nutrition, women’s health, and maternal-infant nursing.  Her clinical experience includes leadership and management, medical-surgical, and maternal-infant nursing.

Dr. Johnson’s expertise in teaching includes maternal-infant, leadership and management, and curriculum development.  Her expertise also includes coordinating the RN-BSN program, as well as special programs for mentoring students and faculty.  She has been honored with Outstanding Nurse Educator awards from both students and colleagues. Her research interests include mentoring in nursing education, women in higher education, and assessment of how nursing students learn.
