I have been a full-time nursing faculty member for seventeen years and have a rich background in adult health and acute care settings and community case management. I am also a midwife.
I am a diploma prepared registered nurse. My quest for knowledge and encouragement from my parents motivated me to seek higher education. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from University of Health Sciences Center at San Antonio School of Nursing, and a Master of Science degree in nursing specializing in adult health with a focus in both education and administration from Incarnate Word University. I am currently a doctoral online learner in education.
I have a variety of clinical background experiences which hold the key to my success as your teacher. The text books are real to me because I have personally experienced them.
There is no stupid question in this class, please always ask. Your colleagues will be glad that you asked. I may not have answers to all of your questions but we will strive to learn together.
On a personal note I am married with three teenage boys. They are very active in sports and other extracurricular activities. I spend my free time as a driver to and from their activities as well as cheering the boys during their games. As a family we enjoy the outdoors, long vacations to Africa and watching movies. When I have my own free time I love to try new recipes, read mystery novels and dance my African music. (I have not had free times in a long time).
Again welcome to my class. I am excited about the opportunity to work with you, assisting you in your learning process, and getting to know each one of you. I feel honored to be your teacher.
