My professional experience includes over 20 years at Georgia Southern University in Savannah, GA. I have taught in the Prelicensure BSN, RN-BSN, and Graduate Programs both face-to-face and online. My teaching experience includes fundamentals, research (undergraduate and graduate), medical-surgical nursing, leadership, legal-ethical issues, and others. My clinical experience includes pediatrics, obstetrics, medical/surgical, and orthopedics.

I appreciate lifelong learning. My first nursing degree was a diploma from St. Joseph’s Hospital in Savannah, GA. I then completed my BSN at Georgia Southern, my MSN (Adult Clinical Nurse Specialist) at GA Southern, and my doctorate at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. I am certified as an Adult Clinical Nurse Specialist. I am a member of Sigma Theta Tau International and Phi Kappa Phi. I currently serve on the Nominations Committee for the National League for Nursing, the Education Committee for the National Association of Clinical Nurse Specialists, and the board for a local nursing home. I also served on the Georgia Board of Nursing for six years.
