In 1982, Ronald Reagan signed a proclamation<\/a> affirming a joint resolution of the United States Congress designated May 6 as “National Recognition Day for Nurses\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t In 1974, the International Council of Nurses declared May 12 as International Nurses Day<\/a> in honor of Florence Nightingale\u2019s birthday.
