Nursing student Brianne Baty<\/strong>, from Middleton, is ranked No. 1 for the Northwest Region All-Around Woman for the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association going into the CNFR (College National Finals Rodeo) June 10-16 in Casper, Wyo. She is the No. 1 goat tyer for the Northwest region and will represent Boise State in barrels and goat tying.<\/p>\n

The CNFR is the \u201cRose Bowl\u201d of college rodeo. It is where the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association crowns individual event champions in saddle bronc riding, bare back riding, bull riding, tie-down roping, steer wrestling, team roping, barrel racing, breakaway roping, and goat tying. National team championships also are awarded to both men\u2019s and women\u2019s teams.<\/p>\n

More than 400 competitors from more than 100 universities and colleges compete in Casper each year. Contestants compete all year in one of the NIRA\u2019s 11 regions for a chance to rope or ride at the CNFR. The top three students in each event, and top two men\u2019s and women\u2019s teams from the NIRA\u2019s 11 regions qualify for the CNFR.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
