{"id":40121,"date":"2014-01-09T15:47:39","date_gmt":"2014-01-09T22:47:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hs.boisestate.edu\/?p=40121"},"modified":"2014-01-09T15:47:39","modified_gmt":"2014-01-09T22:47:39","slug":"jwillhaus-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.boisestate.edu\/nursing\/2014\/01\/09\/jwillhaus-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Janet Willhaus Presents Work Around the Country Throughout the Fall Term"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Nursing faculty <strong>Janet Willhaus<\/strong> traveled around the country during the fall 2013 term to present her simulation work and research.<\/p>\n<p>In September, Willhaus co-presented a four-hour post-conference with Katie Adamson on \u201cSimulation Evaluation Methods\u201d at the National League for Nursing (NLN) Education Summit in Washington, D.C. Willhaus also presented with Mary Anne Rizzolo on the ACE\/V Veterans cases during the summit.<\/p>\n<p>In October, Willhaus presented a plenary address at the NLN Technology Conference held in Philadelphia, Pa., titled &#8220;Simulation: New Ideas, New Evidence.&#8221; She also coordinated a Simulation &#8220;Unsession&#8221; and spoke on the new NLN Veterans cases at the conference in break-out sessions.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Near the end of October, Willhaus attended the Jonas Scholars conference in Washington, D.C. and presented as a part of a group report with her fellow NLN Jonas Scholar colleagues about the status of nursing education coursework in doctoral programs in various states. Willhaus is one of five NLN Jonas Scholars from 2012. The Jonas Foundation financially supports approximately 250 nurses in doctoral programs through three different arms: NLN, American Association of Colleges of Nursing, and Veterans. Willhaus used the Jonas funding to complete her doctoral research last year.<\/p>\n<p>In November, Willhaus was invited to attend the Honor Society of Nursing Sigma Theta Tau International 42nd Biennial Convention in Indianapolis, Ind. as a Rising Stars of Scholarship and Research Invited Poster. She was selected as one of two newly graduated students from Washington State University to represent the university in this capacity.
