It\u2019s aim is to help first-generation college students develop the skills and relationships they will need to thrive throughout their postsecondary education. Through First Forward, faculty and peer educators work to familiarize students with campus culture and the resources that exist for student utilization, as well as provide special programs to help promote individual success at home, in the classroom, and on the job market.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_8881\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-8881\" style=\"width: 100px\" class=\"wp-image wp-image--caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-8881\" src=\"https:\/\/www.boisestate.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/109\/2012\/01\/Sand.jpg\" alt=\"Jaime Sand\" width=\"100\" height=\"113\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-8881\" class=\"wp-caption-text\" style=\"width: 100px\">Jamie Sand<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Gehrke, Seigart, and Sand spoke primarily about being first generation college students themselves, what that experience was like, the things they learned during their first year of Undergraduate education that they wished they\u2019d known sooner, and gave them tips on how to be successful in their pursuit of a college education.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Pam Gehrke, associate professor in the School of Nursing, Denise Seigart, chair of undergraduate and&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":202,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[4072,4071],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-49652","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-cohs-news","category-son-news"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO Premium plugin v27.2 (Yoast SEO v27.2) -
