Spring 2020 Canvas LMS Pilot
Boise State routinely evaluates our technology tools and systems to ensure they are current, sustainable, and supportive of the needs of our faculty, students, and staff. In response to faculty and student interest as well as an evolving market, we are conducting a pilot of the Canvas Learning Management System in Spring 2020. This pilot does not effectuate a move to Canvas. Rather, it is intended to give us insight into faculty and student experiences and preferences, and what the differences are between two leading systems, including not only features, but also usability and support. A task force composed of members of the Office of Information Technology, Extended Studies, Albertsons Library, the Center for Teaching and Learning, ASBSU, and all 9 colleges is guiding this effort, and they will meet in October to determine eligible courses for the pilot.
Please complete the following application by September 27th if you would like to be part of the pilot.

Note: the pilot is limited to 400 users, so the task force will be judicious in making their selection.
The following types of courses are ineligible for the spring pilot:
- 100 level courses
- eCampus “Program” (non-campus based) courses
- Courses using Bb portfolios
- Courses who plan to utilize the Testing Center
If any of the above describe your course, but you are still interested in being involved in (potential) future stages of the pilot, please email LTS@boisestate.edu to explain your interest. Any other questions or comments concerning the pilot can be sent to the LTS email as well.
