New Web Conferencing Option for Fall 2018

In the Summer of 2018, LTS evaluated integrated web conferencing in Blackboard Learn. Zoom and its new Blackboard integration was selected as LTS’ new preferred tool moving forward, and Blackboard Collaborate will be retired after Spring 2019. Faculty currently using Collaborate should familiarize themselves with Zoom now, and contact LTS if they are interested in migrating.

Use Cases for Zoom

Though the web conferencing experience of Zoom itself is consistent, there are several ways faculty may want to utilize the tool. Here are the top scenarios for faculty at Boise State:

Using Zoom for Office Hours (adding a Zoom web link to a course)

Adding the Full Zoom Integration

Using Zoom for Student Initiated Sessions

In addition, feel free to peruse Zoom’s knowledge base for more specific information on its functionality.
