Upcoming Systems Maintenance – Storage Servers Unavailable

The Office of Information Technology (OIT) will perform systems maintenance on Friday, November 29 beginning at 2:00 pm. The maintenance is expected to last until Saturday, November 30, but please refer to myBoiseState for completion notifications.

During this time, a large number of storage servers will be physically moved from one data center to another.

While the move is taking place on a University holiday, the following information is important for campus:

  • There are many systems that will be unavailable during this time, such as PeopleSoft, all network drives including department file shares (all Fircreek servers) and research shares (Sugarcreek server), VMs (virtual machines), and Boomi integrations. Transact, the student payment portal, will also be unavailable.
  • These are OIT-owned storage servers, but OIT doesn’t manage all of the applications that run on these servers. If you have applications that need to be shut down prior to the server move or data that you must access during the outage period, please plan accordingly.

Phones, VPN, myBoiseState, Google Workspace, HCM, and Canvas are NOT affected by this maintenance and will be available.

If you have questions about the downtime or are unsure if you have data or applications affected by this maintenance, please contact the Help Desk at (208) 426-4357 or email helpdesk@boisestate.edu.
