Required Zoom update for some users

Some users with Zoom version 7.0 or earlier will be prompted to install a required update the next time they open the application or join a Zoom meeting.

The update takes only a few minutes to complete and is required to continue using Zoom.

We recently shared an email reminder to be cautious when downloading software following an increase in phishing attempts. Because of the timing, we want you to know this update is expected.

How to check your Zoom version

Windows devices are most likely to be prompted, so these instructions are for the Windows Zoom desktop client.

  1. Open the Zoom desktop application.
  2. Select your profile picture in the upper-right corner.
  3. Select Help > About Zoom.
  4. Your version number will be displayed in the About window. Version 7.1 or later is the current supported version.
