MBA specializations that are growing in demand

If you are a professional with two or more years of management experience and have a desire to move up the career ladder, Boise State University’s Online Master of Business Administration offers the opportunity to tailor your higher education to help achieve your specific goals.

By choosing one of the program’s seven optional MBA specializations, you will acquire industry-specific knowledge, prepare to lead teams and make meaningful, strategic decisions in today’s competitive business world. Those areas are:

  • Business Analytics: Gain fluency in analytics and build your confidence to provide them to your employer for data-driven results that will enhance the business in a rapidly-changing landscape.
  • Construction Management: Increase your business expertise in architecture, engineering or construction by developing effective strategies to motivate teams and manage projects, beginning with the planning stages and following through to execution. You will also be able to analyze organizational and project environments and apply appropriate leadership behaviors based on the context.
  • Cyber Operations: Solve complex problems and execute efficient solutions by designing resilient systems and networks to contend with and recover from cyber-attacks to give you foundational knowledge in cybersecurity systems, lateral and resilience.
  • Finance: Enhance your knowledge of financial markets, analytics, investments and modeling by using hands-on tools to analyze markets, examine current financial issues and explore investment management in global securities markets through academic theories and evidence and practical application.
  • Healthcare Leadership: Gain core management and decision-making skills by communicating, designing and implementing patient-focused solutions while examining industry issues in healthcare policy and the impact they have on cost, quality and access. You will also be able to analyze AEC/HCL organizational and project environments and apply appropriate leadership behaviors based on the context.
  • Management: Increase your communication and managerial skills to set yourself up for leadership roles by learning to apply successful management techniques.
  • Marketing Leadership: Master digital marketing by learning to work across organizational teams to integrate strategy, marketing, data analysis and product development. You will also learn best practices for brand stewardship and management of internal and external communications and to simultaneously manage multiple products and services.

These MBA specializations add long-term value to your higher education. You will learn about design thinking and how to drive innovation through creative, customer-centric problem-solving in your first Online MBA course.
