Boise State’s online Bachelor of Business Administration in Management offers a flexible, accredited degree pathway for students seeking to advance their education or career. From transfer credit support to industry-relevant coursework, here are nine reasons why you can — and should — consider this fully online business degree program as your next big investment.
1. You can transfer credits or start with the pre-management pathway
Boise State’s Online BBA is a degree completion program that helps returning students finish what they started. Student success coaches and advisors are there at the beginning to help you determine your transferable credits and create a degree plan that best fits your goals and timeline.
If you don’t have transferable credits or are new to business administration, the pre-management degree pathway can help get you started by providing relevant foundational courses before entering the full online BBA program. These courses aren’t required, but strongly encouraged as you’ll learn the fundamentals of problem solving, responsible business practices and teamwork — all hallmarks of success within the online business degree program.

If you’re unsure of how your credits will transfer or want to learn more about the pre-management pathway, you can contact a student success coach using the link below.

Flexibility is a top reason students choose online programs — and Boise State delivers.
With fully online programming, scheduling options and multiple start dates throughout the year, Boise State’s online business management degree can be completed while navigating a busy calendar filled with work and family commitments. Most courses are asynchronous, meaning you can log in and complete your coursework when it works for you.
Here are a few BBA program highlights:
- Format: 100% online
- Schedule: Part-time or full-time
- Course length: 7 weeks
- Start date(s): 6 start dates per year
3. You can learn in an inclusive environment

I can’t believe I’m a Boise State grad right now.
My name is MaryBeth Clare. This is the amazing Hubble, my guide dog.
I chose the business management program online so that I can open up my own business.
When I went into school, my main goal was to become a writer and a publisher.
Now, after graduating school, I actually have my business plan written.
I highly recommend doing online because you can make it adjust to your lifestyle.
4. You can get a high-quality, affordable education
When you graduate from any Boise State Online program, rest assured that you’re getting the same degree as those who attend in-person classes. The BBA Online degree program is AACSB-accredited — fewer than 5% of business schools worldwide are awarded this honor — and has the same faculty and course content as the on-campus program.
As for costs, you’re cutting out extras like housing and transportation. Plus, you have the same access to financial aid and scholarships or alternative fee programs.
5. You can choose courses that match your professional goals
The BBA courses are designed to be relevant for the current business management industry and competitive with similar online business degree programs. You have the opportunity to personalize your studies with an:
- Emphasis in Entrepreneurship
- Minor in Accountancy
- Certificate in Business Creation, Nonprofit Management or Resort and Hospitality Management
These options can be completed independently or as part of your degree program.
6. You can build the soft skills employers value
Learning online requires high levels of communication, adaptability and time management, among many other soft skills that employers look for when recruiting new team members. Online students often demonstrate internal motivation and the critical thinking skills needed to thrive when collaborating within a team environment.

7. You can prepare for today’s digital-first job market
Building soft skills goes hand-in-hand with digital literacy. According to the National Skills Coalition, as of 2023, 92% of jobs require digital skills. Learning online can better prepare you to confidently interact with teammates, meet deadlines and remain efficient while working remotely.
And that’s just one part of the equation, you may also need to build competency using different software, tools and applications. The online BBA program can help you prepare for that. “I work in computers, so the amount of working with new tools is not to be overlooked, using new chunks of Excel, Microsoft Suite, software and apps. That alone was a value in and of itself,” online BBA graduate Ryan Ferguson said.
8. You can learn from and connect with experts
The faculty and staff of Boise State’s Online BBA are the same experts who teach on campus, guaranteeing the same dedication to student success and professional outcomes. You should expect to feel supported every step of the way.
“Professors came in with online resources and said, ‘If you need to call, call. Schedule an appointment.’ To be honest with you, the biggest resource is the people. That’s hard to say when you’re in person, because they tell you to use your textbooks or go to the library — but this was different,” BBA student Mariah Gerber said after transferring into the program from community college.
9. You can explore career opportunities and growth opportunities
The online BBA program sets you up to transition into the online Master of Business Administration or helps you get started finding your next job. Online career counselors are available to help you determine your next big step and prepare you for interviews, resume building and requesting letters of recommendation.
A few career paths BBA in Management program graduates may consider are:
- Benefits Administrator
- Branch Manager
- Financial Analyst
- Human Resource Specialist
- Logistics Manager
- Purchasing Manager/Buyer
- Training Specialist
- Account Manager
An active job market equals a big return on your investment, and many of the titles above are in high demand according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, meaning that there’s growth potential.
Bottom line
If you’re considering Boise State’s online Bachelor of Business Administration in Management, just remember this mantra: “You Can.” Business students of all ages and backgrounds have completed this program and you can be one of them.
“If you have the support system like Boise State has provided me, you can do it. I can’t stress that enough. I am all about strength and empowerment. It’s a wonderful program that made me believe in myself,” BBA student Lynn Young said.
