The online Master of Science in Cyber Operations and Resilience and online Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Applied Science in Cyber Operations and Resilience will prepare you to become a professional in the field with practical cybersecurity skills in operational thinking, methodologies and tools that strengthen system resilience while reducing risk.
With courses taught by industry practitioners with real-world experience in physical and cyber operations, you will gain insight into how theory translates to practice and create valuable opportunities for mentorship and career networking.
You will also gain the knowledge and practical experience needed to maintain the operational effectiveness of today’s complex systems through asynchronous online learning.
The customizable curriculum allows you to engage with thoughtfully grouped courses, certificates, minors and pathways that align with your long-term goals and quickly prepare you to launch a career or for advancement.
Undergraduate degrees
The undergraduate online cyber operations and resilience program is ideal for traditional and non-traditional students, community college students and transfer students with two options: the Bachelor of Science or the Bachelor of Applied Science in Cyber Operations and Resilience.
The former is for students with an Associate of Arts, Associate of Science or no prior college credits, while the latter is for students who have earned an Associate of Applied Science or have some technical associate credits.
The online Bachelor of Applied Science in Cyber Operations and Resilience offers the same cybersecurity content and allows you to leverage up to 47 of your technical credits earned at another accredited institution.
You can customize your online learning by adding an emphasis area or a certificate to cater to your goals and meet your needs. Those options are:
- Cyber Undergraduate Emphasis Area: Gain practical knowledge, industry credentials and applicable skills and learn to create holistic resilience. This emphasis area does not require an engineering, computer science or math background.
- Certificate in Cyber Operations: Acquire the skills and knowledge to create and protect resilient systems and networks through practical experience and real-world application.
- Certificate in Applied Computing, Systems and Network: Learn the fundamental principles of secure design, computational thinking, cloud computing, python programming and more.
- Certificate in Cyber for All: Bridge the gap to understanding the implications of good versus bad cyber hygiene.
The cyber emphasis area can also be added to a non-cyber bachelor’s degree. Certificates can be added to a bachelor’s degree or earned as stand-alone credentials. You can complete these 12-credit cyber certificates in as few as two semesters.
This “stackable” structure helps you gain career-ready skills sooner, without waiting until graduation.
Graduate degree
The master’s program offers an industry-driven curriculum that prepares you for real-world challenges. The degree is ideal if you are seeking to advance in your current career or transition into a new field.
You will learn cybersecurity skills to defend and protect organizations from malicious cyberattacks as a cyber industry leader by acquiring the skills to design, protect and maintain secure information systems and networks.
The master’s degree program is designed for professionals with backgrounds in cybersecurity, the military or law enforcement, offering both technical and non-technical tracks, allowing you to tailor your education to your career goals.
The online Master of Science in Cyber Operations and Resilience offers three graduate certificate options. They include:
- Graduate Certificate in Analyst and Threat Intelligence: Centered in real-world application, this certificate option prepares you to be an industry-ready professional and create and protect resilient systems and networks.
- Graduate Certificate in Resilience Engineering: Prepare to fully support the cyber world, defend critical infrastructures and protect our homes with resiliency in mind.
- Graduate Certificate in Governance Policy Administration: Learn to fully support the cyber world with an emphasis on governance policy administration for an organization.
All three options can lead to a career as a cyber defense analyst, a cyber security analyst or an information security analyst.
In each of Boise State’s online cyber operations and resilience programs, you will receive high-quality training through partnerships with VMware, Cisco and Palo Alto that add direct value to you and strengthen the program’s credibility.
