Submit an RDO/Warranty Item

All completed construction projects on campus come with a minimum one year craftmanship warranty. Some equipment or materials may have a longer warranty.

If you’re experiencing an issue that you think might be covered under a construction project’s warranty, follow these steps:

1. Check the Projects Under Warranty Report

Review the Projects Under Warranty Report below to see if your item is part of a project that is still within its warranty period.

2. Submit a Request

If your issue is connected to an active warranty, fill out the RDO Intake Form below. Make sure to include the correct Field Representative and project number listed in the report.

3. Review and Coordination

Your request will be reviewed by the Field Representative for the project. If the problem is covered by the warranty, the Field Representative will file an official request (called an RDO) with the contractor to have the issue fixed.

  • If approved, the Field Rep will create a Report of Deficiency Obligation (RDO) and send it to the contractor for repair.
  • The Field Rep may contact you for more information or to coordinate access to the space.

4. Completion and Notification

Once the contractor completes the work and it has been evaluated, you will receive a notification through Smartsheet confirming that the RDO has been closed.
